Thyroid & Hormone Care
Clear answers for tiredness, weight change, hair fall and irregular periods — from the right tests to a treatment plan that is reviewed until you feel well.
OVERVIEW
Getting the diagnosis — and the dose — right
Thyroid problems are common and very treatable, but the symptoms are easy to mistake for stress or ageing. Dr. Rao reviews your symptoms and history, orders only the tests that are needed, and explains what each result means.
If you already take thyroid medicine, we check that the dose is right for you — including during pregnancy planning — and look at related hormone concerns such as PCOS-related insulin resistance.

HOW TO PREPARE
Before you come in
- Take your thyroid tablet as usual On the day of a blood test, take it after the sample has been collected.
- Bring previous thyroid reports Older TSH values help us see the trend.
- Tell us about pregnancy or plans for pregnancy Thyroid targets are different, and doses often need to change.
- Pause biotin supplements Biotin, common in hair supplements, can distort thyroid results — stop it two days before testing.
QUESTIONS
Thyroid care FAQs
Will I need thyroid tablets for life?
Most people with hypothyroidism do need long-term treatment, but the dose is small, safe and reviewed regularly. Some temporary thyroid problems settle without lifelong medicine.
How soon will I feel better?
Most patients notice an improvement within four to six weeks of reaching the right dose.
Do I need a thyroid ultrasound?
Only if the examination or blood tests suggest a nodule or swelling. We arrange it when it is needed, not routinely.
