General Medicine Consultation
A thorough, unhurried assessment of any new or ongoing health concern — the right place to start when you are not sure what is wrong.
OVERVIEW
What this consultation covers
A general medicine consultation is a complete adult health assessment with Dr. Rao. We take a detailed history, examine you, review any reports you bring, and explain what we think is going on — in plain language.
Most patients leave with a diagnosis or a clear plan to reach one, a written prescription if needed, and instructions on when to follow up. If you need a specialist, we refer you to one we trust and share your notes with them.

QUESTIONS
General consultation FAQs
How long is a consultation?
New consultations are booked for 20 minutes. If your concern needs more time, we schedule a longer follow-up rather than rush you.
Can I bring a family member?
Yes — one companion is welcome in the consulting room, and it often helps for older patients.
Do you see children?
We see adults and adolescents aged 14 and above. For younger children we recommend a paediatrician, and can suggest one nearby.
